An environmentally friendly choice for creating furniture

Wood is a renewable resource

Wood is one of the most sustainable and renewable resources available for furniture production. Being naturally replenishable, makes it an environmentally friendly choice for producing furniture.

The renewable nature of wood is rooted in sustainable forestry practices. In forests that are responsibly managed, trees are harvested at a rate that allows the forest to regenerate over time. For every tree that is cut down, new ones are planted or allowed to grow naturally, ensuring the continued health and biodiversity of the ecosystem. These practices help maintain the balance of the forest, preserving habitats for wildlife and supporting the local environment.

INwood makes sure to only use wood harvested in sustainable forests.

Sustainable furniture manufacturing

Wood is one of the most versatile resources there is. It is a strong and long-lasting material and has a lower carbon footprint than other materials used for furniture.

In order to help avoiding deforestation, maintain biodiversity and ensure future use, INwood only uses FSC certified wood.

Appart from this, INwood is also compliant when it comes to E0,5 / TSCA / CARB2.

2/3 of energy from renewables

The factory roof of INwood is lined with solar panels, producing over 60% of the electricity used in the production.
That is 400 kilojoules (kJ) out of a total of 600.

The goal is to get 100% self-sufficient in electricity within the next few years.

Nothing goes to waste

All wood that enters the factory is used

All left-over wood scrap from production is used, either for heating of the factory during the cold months, or used in production of hardwood briquettes that is sold locally.
